Swedish massage focuses on gentle to moderate pressure strokes moving towards the heart. Strokes used in Swedish massage include long and gliding movements, kneading, vibration, tapping, and friction. Bending and stretching movements to relax joints may also be used. Swedish massage can be both relaxing and energizing, providing a feeling of overall well-being.
A light but very effective treatment. Myofasical Release (MFR) helps to realign the body and correct postural problems. MFR is essential for the treatment of pain. It helps the fascia, which surrounds and connects all the structures in the body, to correct restrictions in the body. Loosening the restrictions allows the body to realign and rebalance.
Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is found in the muscles or connective tissue at the source of pain. Often the pain can refer away from the trigger point, and be felt in other areas of the body. Trigger points will cause referred pain in a predictive pattern. Successfully treating trigger points greatly reduces pain and irritation.
Reflexology is an alternative treatment involving application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that purportedly reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with the premise that such work effects a physical change to the body. A very relaxing treatment – one which will leave you feeling balanced.
